Mississippi State University Athletics
The Bulldogs compete in NCAA Division I athletics. Men’s and women’s sports include basketball, golf, and tennis. Other sports include baseball, football, softball, and volleyball.
In recent times, the Bulldogs have been to six different NCAA bowl games. They have been to the Final Four of men’s basketball (1996). The baseball team has made three trips to the College World Series. And they have one seven different Southeastern Conference championships.
Mississippi State University is an NCAA Division I school, with baseball, basketball, football, golf, tennis, and track & field for men and basketball, cross-country, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track & field, and volleyball for women. The team nickname is the Bulldogs. Spirit groups include a co-ed cheer team, a pom squad, and a mascot. Students compete in the Southeast Conference.
Sports facilities include a stadium, a field, a coliseum, a gymnasium, a soccer field, the softball field, two field houses, a tennis center, a track, and other buildings.
Mississippi State University sports teams have qualified for NCAA postseason play frequently, including nine teams in 2002-2003. Bulldog teams have traveled to six football bowl games, the men’s Final Four in 1996, the College World Series three times, and Southeastern Conference championships.
